I had this problem as the place for the machine was a long way from the sink and drains. I was advised by the company who I rent my washing machine from to get an extension for the hose. I found a local shop who stocked this sort of thing they were able to provide me with a hose which is plenty long enough and it fitted over the end of the hose that came out of the back of the machine.
